![]() For some reason all games were capped at 30fps on the big screen, and I wasn't able to change that setting anywhere. Now I might've been very unlucky with my hardware so I'm still going to buy the official dock when it comes out just in case it was all on my end. ![]() (In handheld mode I got a solid 60 fps with graphics on high, very satisfying experience actually.)Įven the actual Steam UI was slow, dipping below 15 fps at times. (Resolution was set to 800p, 60 Hz.)ĭoom Eternal ran okay, but it didn't feel very smooth on the big TV, kind of like playing as a slightly drunk Doomguy. I've tried 2 different hubs, the second one just being a basic USB-C to HDMI that supported 4K 60Hz, but the frame rates were so low, even a game like Hollow Knight was unplayable (often dropping as low as 15 fps). No doubt terribly unpopular in this sub, but oh well.Īs it turns out, I've been enjoying the handheld mode more than I thought I would and everything I've tried runs fantastically, so that's been a big plus, but I was still pretty disappointed in the docked performance. ![]() I know most people didn't buy it for that purpose so I'm in the minority, but personally when I saw the Deck, I just figured I would use it the same way I use my Switch - plugged into the TV 90% of the time. So I've had my Steam Deck for a few days now, and I just thought I'd share some thoughts about playing in docked mode.
